To do justice to their designs, they source quality materials from around the world, add a sense of craftsmanship and use traditional techniques to make clothing. They do this to honor the history behind blue jeans.
Focusing on quality materials and attention to detail, Blue de Gênes offers a complete clothing line with strong identity jeans, hand-knitted sweaters, tailored waistcoats and jackets inspired by clothing as it looked in Genoa in the 16th century. By claiming that indigo "flows in our veins", Blue de Gênes promises to continue the legacy of Genoa. They do this by constantly being inspired by the history of Genoa and the people who lived there.
Blue de Gênes attaches great importance to every detail of the jeans, be it the fabric quality, the fit and feel, the buttons or the washing of the jeans. Jeans are the soul of Blue de Gênes and they make no compromises. The best fabrics are sourced from the best suppliers such as Kuroki in Japan and Candiani in Italy. The buttons and rivets are individual and branded and give the jeans the final touch.
All jeans are made with button facing, which is the original way. Blue de Gênes uses leather reinforcements as unique details, slightly angling their coin pockets and doubling the back pockets for added durability - just like about 400 years ago. Blue de Gênes is unyielding when it comes to quality. This gives the jeans character. It really lies in the detail.
To celebrate the history of jeans, Blue de Gênes produces its jeans in a small family factory in northern Italy. It took a while to find a factory with the same love for the product - with the same effort as Blue de Gênes. But they did it - and you can see it when you hold the product in your hand.
