Blaumann Jeanshosen
The idea for the traditional Blaumann jeans was born in 2013. The jeans craft, which the blue men have now conspired to bring back to Germany. With the brand Blaumann-Jeanshosen you have launched a unique product for fans and lovers of jeans.
A few years ago Guido Wetzels and his two friends Christian Hampel and Peter Bättig, who were all working in the jeans industry, met and started a mission to bring their vision of the perfect jeans to life. "Authentic jeans made in Germany with predominantly local materials and the historical edge denim," is how Wetzels describes the original goal. Local, sustainable and of high quality, just like in the good old days. That is exactly what the Blaumann company stands for today. Their jeans are reminiscent of the originals, and most of them carry the soul of a collector's item. Blaumann's best-selling jeans also happen to be her first design. These jeans, made of solid 15-ounce denim without a stretch element, are a real rarity among their colleagues.
There are several different shapes available, but all designs follow the principle that less is simply more. Great importance is attached to being as close as possible to the original production process. Therefore, the most important factors are the quality, the raw denim produced with the traditional and extremely rare shuttle looms without industrial laundering. The jeans is a statement to appreciate craftsmanship and to put quality before quantity. With several hundred thousand tons of textiles ending up in landfills every year, the trend towards sustainable clothing is growing steadily and Blaumann fits the bill perfectly. Blaumann produces exclusively in Germany and all materials from buttons to yarn are manufactured locally.
Until recently, only denim was produced at the world's best weaving mill, Kuroki in Japan, and used for jeans, but Wetzels and his partners have started producing denim in Germany in 2018. To do this, the boys teamed up with another company and bought two old-school looms from Asia to start producing small quantities of denim. The blue man made of German denim was a great success and was enthusiastically accepted by enthusiasts from all over Germany.
WHY PRODUCE JEANS IN GERMANY?
Well over 100 million* jeans are imported into Germany every year. The large number of jeans brands is now hardly manageable. However, the method of production and the way in which they are made have remained the same and are comparable, as have the production locations in well-known countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan and India. As is now known, most of the time under very dubious conditions.
WHAT DO WE DO DIFFERENTLY?
The traditional production of the new jeans brand takes place exclusively in German clothing factories and stands for unconditional quality. Ingredients such as yarns, buttons and leather labels also come from Germany. Contrary to the industry trend, the Blaumänner are breaking completely new ground and have consciously opted for transparent and sustainable production in Germany.
