Most important facts about beard care

Such a beard can look cool or - but how to care for my beard?

We have put together a few tips and tricks for this:

If you don't take care of your beard, the hair on your beard will become overgrown and even tend to mat. If you want to look good it is essential to control and care for your own beard hair.

Here we give you some tips, list a few products we use ourselves and which are indispensable for the daily beard care.

The "rough procedure" is as follows:

  • Wash your beard - per week you should wash your beard 2-3 times with beard shampoo, otherwise only with water.
  • Dry the beard - comb the beard with a towel or even with a lukewarm hairdryer and at the same time comb it with the beard brush. Rub about 4-5 drops of beard oil on the palm of your hand and then massage it into the skin under the beard - it prevents itching and dandruff caused by too dry skin.
  • Beard care - Care and shape the beard hair with Beard Balm or Beard Pomade - depending on length and shagginess.
  • Shape the beard - if necessary, twirl and shape the moustache with beard wax

The Beard Comb

If our whiskers are not regularly combed and groomed, they tend to become matted. Regular combing with a beard comb loosens the beard hair and prevents unsightly knots. By the way, there are especially fine combs for the moustache.

The Beard Brush

The Beard Brush helps to tame even the shaggiest whiskers. The Beard Brush - preferably made from wild boar bristles, which are harder than normal hairbrushes - brings the hair into shape and helps massage the skin, giving the beard a stronger shine. But be careful not to brush too hard - otherwise you will hurt your skin. It's best to brush the beard while it's drying - for massage and smoothing. Also after applying beard oil and/or balm or pomade, the beard brush helps to shape the beard.

Beard trimming

The right cut is very important - regular visits to the barber are recommended. For daily care, the use of beard scissors or an electric beard trimmer is very helpful to keep the beard in shape after care and to trim it to the right size. A beard plane / wet razor is needed to trim the roots and contours well and cleanly.

The beard blow dryer

To dry the beard hairs you can also blow-dry them slightly - but be careful not to do this too often and not too hot, otherwise the skin and beard hair will dry out too quickly. Longer beard hairs can also be well blow-dried with a round brush in form.

The Beard Oil

Nothing works without beard oil. It helps to avoid skin irritations and scaling caused by too dry skin. Of course, we usually cream our skin on our face - but we won't get far under the beard hairs - for this we have to massage in the Beard Oil. Simply put 4-5 drops of beard oil on the palm of your hand, rub it in your hand and then rub it through your beard - it feels good, smells good and also cares for your skin. I use the pipette to add an extra drop of beard oil to particularly dry areas and massage it in extra - that helps. The beard oil also ensures that the beard remains loose and soft.

The beard wax

The best moustache needs some guidance, otherwise the upper lip hairs are just too stubborn and lie down wherever they want. With the brush or comb in the direction and then skillfully shape or even twirl with beard wax or beard jelly. This gives the Schnauzer contour and allows it to be laid in the right shape. The ends of the moustache can be twirled very well with some extra wax. The moustache wax is very firm in consistency and should be pushed out with the fingernail. Then rub between thumb and forefinger until it is softly melted and can be applied.

The Beard Shampoo

The whiskers are very sensitive and dry out easily. A longer beard should therefore be washed with special care. In addition to regular cleaning with water only, a gentle shampoo is used 2-3 per week. Normal hair shampoo unnecessarily strains the beard. Therefore, only choose a beard shampoo with high-quality and 100% natural ingredients, which form a natural conditioner that has a re-greasing effect and provides lasting care. I use Beyer's Oil Shampoo Verbena, which softens the hair and preserves moisture, for a beautiful and well-groomed beard.

The Beard Balm

The Beard Balm helps you to keep your beard in shape and maintain it. It gives the beard a beautiful shine and a pleasant scent. It also helps to care for the skin under the beard and emphasizes the natural hair colour. It can also be applied into the still wet beard hair. It offers the hair a light hold.

The Beard Pomade

The beard pomade helps you to style the shape you want with longer beards or even with unruly hair Beard pomade also provides the beard with a beautiful shine and a fragrant scent. Beard Pomade offers a stronger hold than Beard Balm.
