12 km of yarn

12 kilometres of yarn for a jumper? The actual amount of yarn used in a knitted jumper depends, amongst other things, on the yarn weight, the knitting technique and the finish. Particularly fine knitted fabrics require a large number of stitches and a correspondingly large amount of yarn to achieve their characteristic texture.

In this video, we take a closer look at the production of knitted fashion and explain how individual strands of yarn are transformed into a finished garment. We’ll also show why knitted fabrics differ so significantly in their structure, feel and finish.
